Samaritans Purse Shoeboxes
Thank you to everyone who helped fill 49 shoeboxes, or have donations of goods or money. These have all been collected from Shirley, who will endeavour to find out where your donations have made their way to! Further updates when available; this might be the new year however…
Remembrance 2018
This year for the centenary of Remembrance, St Mark’s has been awarded some silhouette soldiers, which you will start to see appearing in church, to help us remember and think about Remembrance. Our Remembrance services are:
- Sun 11 Nov, 9:30 Remembrance Reflection Service
- Sun 11 Nov, 10:55 Act of Remembrance at Memorial
Our thanks to all who have produced – only nine short of 1,400 (as of the evening of the 25th) poppies – many of which are now in place at the front of the church.
Ways of Giving to St Mark’s
Why not consider donating to the work we do through the Parish Giving Scheme? A monthly direct debit that you can increase or decrease as you need easily? Speak to Maureen for further details, or visit:

Christmas Fayre in Pennington
At the Pennington Christmas Lights Event taking place on 30th November, St Mark’s will be having various stalls in the hall at the Junior School. We shall be grateful therefore for any gifts of bric-a-brac items and tombola prizes together with bottles of wine and Christmas food items for the draw.
Do you want to host your own stall on the night? Although most spaces for stalls indoors have been taken, there is space outside – if you, or anyone you know – wanted to sell your wares on the night.
Please visit the following for further information:

Can you help with the Pennington Christmas Fayre?
There is a meeting coming up on the 18th November at 6pm in the Pennington Sports and Social Club, for those who would like to volunteer their help for the Pennington Christmas event. With roles to fill towards setting up and pulling down, as well as support during the evening, any and all volunteers will be gladly welcomed!
A date for your diary
on the evening of 3rd December a concert will be held in church by the very popular Sing Sway. Further details to follow.
Traidcraft Update
STOP PRESS: Great news! The Trustees of Traidcraft have decided to carry on trading in the new year albeit with a simpler range of products – establishing a core of grocery lines and carrying fewer craft items. The aim is to reveal the full plan by December – so watch this space!
Meditation Group
On Monday 12th November the Meditation group will meet in the Lady Chapel at 2:30. All are welcome.
