New ways to give to St Mark’s?

How many of us carry cash?  Not as many today as has been the case in previous years – where card and mobile contactless payments can be so convenient. St Mark’s is happy to announce that we can now accept payments for Traidcraft and donations to the work we do via debit and credit card, as well  as mobile contactless methods.  If you want to find our more, speak to our treasurer Teresa for further details!

Help our Hall!

Our new windows are bare, and we need your help to raise the money for blinds. St Mark’s Community Hall is a friendly, welcoming, calm environment, for use by the community. Help us to make this space even better, with blinds at the windows: you can donate through our Just Giving campaign at:

…or alternatively, please speak to Teresa Nivison for further details. If you want to book the hall for your event, check out:

Confirmation Service

The Bishop of Basingstoke will be leading a confirmation service at St Mark’s Church, Pennington on Sunday 28th April at 3pm. Please come along to support our candidates Bev and Alex as they are confirmed, and Lauren as she is baptised together with candidates from Lymington and Milford. This is a joyous milestone in their journey of faith, we look forward to gathering together and celebrating with friends and family. This is also our patronal festival, and you are warmly invited to stay on for afternoon tea after the service.

Are you after a kneeler?

We’re spring cleaning and if you would like one of our old kneelers to have at home, you are very welcome to have any of those we are removing from church. We will be keeping them around until Easter, but any that are left after that will be removed.

Sing Sway Concert

Sing Sway will be performing “Handels Messiah, Parts 2 and 3” on Saturday May 11th from 7:30pm at St Luke’s in sway.

Tickets are available from St Luke’s church office (mornings) or Sway Deli (Tuesday to Sunday) at £10 per person – to include refreshments under the ticket price.

Thanksgiving Service for Derrick Dashwood

We will be having a Thanksgiving service in church for Derrick Dashwood at 2:30pm on Thursday 9th May, followed by refreshments. Everyone is welcome to come and join us at this service as we celebrate his life and all he meant to us at St Mark’s.

Easter Saturday Market Stall

We raised over £130! Thank you so much to everyone who helped: I really am grateful for your support – it is much appreciated. Thank you also to everyone who kindly donated items – we couldn’t do it without your generosity.

Our next Lymington Market stall is 25th May: please do come to support us – Pam Ansell

Basics Bank

Basics Bank thanks everyone for all their donated goods but at present as they have a sufficient supply of baked beans and soup they would be grateful to receive instead tins of vegetables, rice pudding and custard.

Traidcraft Update

We now have some spring/summer catalogues available on the stall at the back of church.  You will see that Traidcraft have reduced the number of lines being stocked and, sadly, at the moment some of our favourites have been discontinued or are work in progress.  However please have a look through the catalogues and see if there are any items you would like ordered.  Every little helps!

Draw Club thanks!

The new draw year started on 1st April and our thanks go to all those who took part in last year’s draw and to all those who have joined for the upcoming year. Thank you also to all those who generously donated winnings back to the church.

Last year we raised nearly £1,000 for church funds. Your support is very much appreciated.
