St Barbe’s exhibition at St Mark’s

Enjoying the exhibition stands
On Friday 20th and Saturday 21st, St Mark's played host to members of local museum and art gallery, St Barbe's, who put on an exhibition about St Mark's Church - at the heart of Pennington.  Here are some photos from the Saturday, brought to life by Geraldine and Pauline - local historians who presented short talks about the history of our church.

Harvest Festival 2017

The Lymington Beavers present gifts for the New Forest Basics Bank
We held our Harvest Festival service at St Marks last weekend and our thanks to all who provided so generously towards New Forest Basics Bank. It was fantastic to see members of the local Beavers and so many other children with us! Our thanks also to the excellent Peter and Nicola who prepared our meal: Thank you for feeding us so well at our harvest lunch!

Church Fête 2017

On Saturday July 2nd, St Marks held our 2017 church fête at the Pennington WI hall. Under mostly blue (but certainly dry) skies. With raffles, tombola, games, cakes, a magician, dancers - and cream teas - it was a fantastic day for all involved. Thanks to all who helped to make the day a success; £1,085 was raised through the event, which will help towards St Marks and our work in the community.

Our evening service for Rogation, taking place with the church yard of St Marks. As God is in all things and always with us, we can worship Him wherever we find ourselves: but outside, surrounded by the vibrant gifts of Creation, is perhaps where I feel closest to God's grace and majesty.

A Trip to Wisley

After much planning and with thanks to Jackie our Administrator, Teresa, and John for looking after the car parking, Saturday the 6th May had finally come and we all arrived well on time to board the coach for our Church and Friends outing to RHS Wisley.  We had a pleasant and unencumbered journey to Wisley: once through the gates the majority of us split into two groups with two friendly guides taking us round the gardens on a very interesting one and a half hour tour. We heard how the RHS began in 1903 and how it evolved and is still doing so today with a massive upgrading of some of the ...

Crib Service, 2016

On a chilly Christmas Eve afternoon, St Marks welcomed more children than I can count for our annual crib service.  This was my first such service - I've never attended one, in my youth or adulthood: but what fun it was, albeit somewhat chaotic.  Merry Christmas, everyone; we'll be back again at 11:30pm for Midnight Mass - and back again at 9:30am Christmas Day!
