Messy Church

Messy Church

Messy Church, held at St Marks for the local community

Messy Church is a worldwide movement which started in this country almost twenty years ago. It is an opportunity for children and their families to take time out of the busy and demanding world in which we live, and simply have fun together, without the pressure of cleaning up afterwards, or having to think about what to have for tea. It also gives young ones a chance to hear the traditional Christian message in a relaxed environment, something that parents tell us they want for their children, even if they are not generally a church-going family.

How much does it cost to join Messy Church, and then to come along each month? Nothing. That’s right: nothing! Remember that saying, “There’s no such thing as a free lunch”? Well, at Messy Church there is! Some people choose to make a donation to Messy Church, which is lovely, but on the whole it is funded by the members of St Mark Pennington, because that’s what Jesus asks of us, so that is what we do 🙂

Check the calendar for the date of the next Messy Church: it’s always on a Wednesday afternoon, and takes place straight after school.
